Located in Kihei on the south shore of Maui, Charley Young Beach is a spot for outdoor activities such as having picnics. It is right next to Kamaole Beach 1. The beach was named after a military reporter who came at the wrong time to build his house in this beach during World War II. All the beaches then in Maui were taken over and made to simulate enemy beach landings.
Charley Young is not usually as crowded with visitors unlike the Kam 1. Its parking lot is on Kaiau St., which is is used as access path and stairs to the end of the beach.
